  1. Ed, what kind of freaky cupcakes are you making?!?

    Castor Sugar?
    Allen’s freckles??

Are you terrorizing small freckled children with motor oil cupcakes??

We frown on that in the US….

  2. We make Jam/Jelly. Now when we give it away we have to say – this is not Jam/Jelly/Conserve – this is a mixture of fruit and sugar and pectin. It has to have 60% sugar to be ‘real. Ours is quite sweet enough with 50% sugar and we get visits in the back of beyond asking if we have any spare blackcurrant jam as it is the best they have ever tasted – we honestly say no – but we have a jar of this stuff with blackberries in.

    The world is going mad.

ps – you missed out the strychnine

The poor children. I hope someone else actual made them, no offense Ed. You are a guitarist, fashion icon.

    But Baker?

And I wonder what BlogRush will send you with the title ‘Cupcakes’?

    Dear Ed,

As a Mom of a son with severe peanut allergies, I am probably one of the reasons schools or Parent Teacher Associations (at least here in CA) require this. Each year in school we’d have to send a letter to our son’s classmates’ parents at the start of the school year explaining he could die if he ingests any peanuts or peanut products and if they send or bring in baked goods for the class, to please take this allergy seriously because it is indeed life-threatening. We were lucky and he didn’t have any problems.

But food allergies in children are increasingly common and I feel for parents whose children are going through more severe food allergies than we had to be alert to.

    Just another perspective.

    Cheers,
    Linda
