It’s ALWAYS about the time
Ok - Continuing the live sale process. I’ve got a letter from the vendor and a spreadsheet showing the month by month breakdowns.
Now - the figures are in a spreadsheet - if you were going to buy the site you would need to verify them!
Here is a link to the website sale spreadsheet
Now here is the description from the vendor. Now just for the record - this is a very real situation - if your interested in buying the site - shoot me an e-mail at dominiches@gmail.com
Hi Ed…
Attached is a spreadsheet which details the monthly traffic and
profit. I’ve also included some other fields you’ll need.I’ll explain each of the fields on the spreadheet now:
Days Running: this is the number of days that the Google
Adwords campaign was *actively running for that month*.
(Because this site made so much less than my other incomes,
I really neglected it. Silly, really. I would often forget to
make sure money was being paid to Google. I lost an average of
6 or 7 days a month due to this
negligence.
Some months it just didn’t run at all. I know… pretty silly.Days in Month: The total number of days in that calendar month
Sales: No of sales that month
Sales Rev $: Revenue from sales of the book (in dollars)
Refunds: No. of refunds that month
Ad Cost $: Cost of Google Adwords clicks (in dollars)
Refunds $ : Cost of refunds (in dollars)
Profit: Total profit for that month
(IMPORTANT NOTE: I wouldn’t advise trying to judge the site’s
performance over the months by looking exclusively at this
field. Here’s why: there were many days when the ads didnt
run for 7 or 8 days… whereas… some months, the ads
ran every single day.If you only look at the profit field, it makes it difficult
to see what months did best… and.. difficult to track the
progress of the site over the months.However.. I know it’s important to get an idea of the site’s
progress over time. So…..I created the following field…
Average profit per day $: Here’s how this was calculated…
total profit for all the days the ads ran…
..divided by… the number of days the ads ran for(This is a much clearer way to compare months. It means you
can compare months that had varying numbers of inactive days)Vistors: number of vistors that month
Average Visitors/Day: Here’s how this was calculated…
number of visitors for all the days the ads ran
..divided by… the number of days the ads ran for(This field lets you compare traffic for months which had
varying numbers of days inactive)Likely Total Visitors: This is the Avg Visitors/day…
multiplied by…the number of days in that calendar month.Because many months had days where the ads were inactive,
this field gives an idea of how many vistors would have
visited the site, if the ads were kept active every dayLikely Total Profit $: This is the Avg Profit/Day…
multiplied by… the number of days in that calendar month.Because many months had days where the campaign wasnt
running, this gives an idea of how much profit would have
been made, if the campaign was kept active every day.
So what do you think
