Buying and Selling Web Site Questions Answered

I am getting some great questions about buying and selling sites (Thank's for sending out my email address Frank!!)

1. How do you make sure that the transfer is properly completed when you
buy? (and sell I guess). How do you deal with US legals?

Each jurisdiction is different - but the fundementals for protection are the same - i'm going to save you thousands by giving you my check list - so you can say to your lawyer do this - instead of them starting from scratch!

2. Do you steer clear of all hard goods sites?

I do - because i am lazy!!
There are great opportunities there - you just have some more element s to deal with - suppliers etc

3. What are the website equivalents activities of housing renovation 'paint
& light' (give good return for effort)?

There are classics - like adding a name squeeze, or a PPC campaign - i try to play to my strengths - you should play to yours!

4. Does the 'technical mode' of the site matter - ie is it a template site,
what tool has been used etc

Not really - there are so many tech dudes working for cheap that the tech is not so important - I will go over this in a lot of detail on the course

5. Would you tend to keep or break hosting arrangements?

Probably keep - unless there was a better deal - what are the economics of the situation?
